bcox001 How to Clean Out the Recycle Bin on Your Computer
The Recycle Bin waste basket should show on your computer Desk Top. It is the folder on your computer where files are sent whenever you delete them from various applications. They are stored there in case you delete a file by mistake and would like to restore it. However, eventually you need to clean out this folder to make the space being used available on your hard disk.

To clear out the Recycle Bin left click twice on it to activate it. (Or right click once and then click once on Open.) A new page will show and it will have all of the files you have deleted since you last cleared the Recycle Bin (or it may have none). It should show the amount of memory used by these files on your hard drive.

If you have a file in the Recycle Bin that you want back, you can retrieve it now, before you remove all of the files permanently.

To retrieve a file from the Recycle Bin list put your mouse pointer on that file and click on the right mouse button once. A small menu will appear. Select and click Restore with the left mouse button. The file will now return to its original location.

If you have no file to restore and want to get rid of everything in the Recycle Bin, go up to File in the menu bar along the top of the window, and click once. You will see the words Empty Recycle Bin. Click once and you will be asked "Are you sure you want to delete these nn items?". Click Yes to permanently remove all of the files.
